The story of my trip around the world to train, teach and compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and other grappling arts.

The amazing around-the-world burger project: Honolulu, Hawaii.

The burger from Hawaii was competing out of “Teddy’s” gym. It had great base, many years of experience and a solid game based on fundamentals. Nothing fancy, but it worked.

I ranked it a purple belt!

Damn, I knew I should have stepped up to the plate and took you to somewhere other than Teddy’s.

Sad I didn’t get to roll with you while you’re here, but glad that you had a great experience. Nyza, Rylan, and Steven are three awesome guys — great teachers and great rolling partners. Looks like the “aloha spirit” was alive and well during your trip here, which is what I was hoping (and also very worried that you wouldn’t have enough to do).

Hope to catch you in SoCal. If you’ve got time, let’s roll at Gazze Academy in Huntington Beach before Mundials.

    Boa viagem! Tchau! :)
